Imphal, January 20:
Reacting sharply to the decision of the Government to transfer the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong T Pamei, the Liangmai Naga Council has urged the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and others to cancel the transfer of the IAS officer.
T Pamei was recently transferred as the Registrar of Co-operatives.
Stating that Tamenglong district is the most backward district in Manipur, LNC said that it needs an efficient DC and added that during the time of T Pamei, various developmental programmes such as RSVY, PMGSY, NREGS etc have been successfully implemented.
Asserting that T Pamei is a dynamic and effective officer, the statement said that he has covered the entire villages of the district and rendered his service for the welfare of the people.
After a long time of negligence and Government apathy, Tamenglong has now started to see the light of development, asserted LNC and added that this is a fact which can be corroborated by every individual and even the Government of Manipur.
While the people of Tamenglong are expecting the completion of many projects during the current financial year under the initiative of T Pamei as the district administrator, it is ironic that the Government should transfer such an effective, officer, said the statement further.
Making its point clear, the LNC has appealed to the Government to stay the transfer of T Pamei till the end of the current financial year.
