ZUF intensifies drives against 'illegal immigrants'

Imphal, November 17 2025: Intensifying steps to prevent illegal encroachment within the Zeliangrong-Inpui ancestral land, the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) destroyed poppy farms, dismantled farm huts and various items reportedly utilized by "illegal immigrant intruders" in Waphong area today.

Marking the third episode of such decisive action undertaken by ZUF, the Front has reiterated that these actions are aimed at safeguarding their ancestral homeland from continued illegal occupation and activities that threaten the security, identity and rights of the indigenous communities.

Raising a call for unity among indigenous communities, it has appealed to all to stand united and protect their precious land from "illegal intruders".

"Collective vigilance and cooperation are essential before the situation escalates beyond control", it added.

ZUF also recalled that it has issued repeated warnings to "refugees and illegal settlers" advising them to immediately cease all unlawful activities within Zeliangrong-Inpui ancestral land, including establishment and operation of SoO camps, illicit drug cultivation, creation of unauthorized new villages and conducting illegal checks on native commuters.

Violations of these warnings will not be tolerated.
