Sadar Hills, November 16 2016: Rolling up its sleeves against the alleged 'scandalous' betrayal of the State Government, the Joint Action Committee for Sadar Hills has served an ultimatum to the Congress Councillors of ADC Sadar Hills and Congress MLAs and workers to severe ties with the Congress party.

The ultimatum of the JAC Sadar Hills was taken in today's joint meeting with all civil society organizations of Sadar Hills including Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, SAHILCA and Thadou Inpi, Sadar Hills.

The JAC Sadar Hills asked the Congress Councillors of Sadar Hills to resignn from the Congress party before 1 pm of tomorrow, that is November 17 and submit a copy of their resignation letter to JAC Sadar Hills before 5 pm of the same day.

It also asked all district and block level Congress workers and members of Sadar Hills to publish their resignation from the Congress party latest by November 18 in all leading newspapers of the State.

The JAC Sadar Hills further warned that it will be compelled to begin various intense form of agitation including indefinite economic blockade along the National Highway within Sadar Hills from November 20 if the State Government continues to sleep over the demand that Sadar Hills be declared a full fledged district.

The crucial ultimatum was taken up as a follow up action of the public resolution on November 9 and if the Congress Councillors and district and block Congress workers including members fail to comply with the ultimatum, JAC will subsequently close ADC Sadar Hills and offices of district and block Congress committee respectively, it stated.

It further said that if the State Government compels the JAC Sadar Hills to begin the agitation it will be intense and vigorously imposed one after another to show their desperation and unwillingness to accept the brutal betrayal.

The course of action will be declared if the state Government compels us to go ahead with the proposed agitation on November 20, it said.

The JAC Sadar Hills reminded the Manipur Congress Government and the world that Sadar Hills district has become the first district in the world to be left undeclared even after its declaration plaque was installed and remains the oldest district in the entire universe awaiting its declaration for more than 45 years since 1971 .
