Imphal, May 15:
With the SPF Government intent on cracking down on all frontal organisations of underground outfits including civil society organisations, NGOs and even student bodies and following the instructions of the Government to the DGP to instruct the police stations to map out the antecedents of the bodies as well as their leaders, the State police have started intensive investigations into all such bodies.
At the moment the investigation centres around the funding of such organisations, their objectives as well as their activities, said a source while speaking to The Sangai Express today evening.
The investigation will also cover non-registered bodies such as JACs which were formed immediately in response to a situation, said the source and added that all the probes will cover the organisations and JACs as well as the antecedents and credibility of the leaders heading such organisations.
If any of the functionaries or leaders of such organisations are found to have links with any underground outfits stern action will be taken up including confiscation of their passports as well as denying Government employment opportunities to their family members and next of kins, disclosed
the source further.
The State police is minutely watching their activities, said the source and added that the final report will be submitted in two months' time.
