Imphal, February 15 2022: Cocking a snook at the tall claims of the BJP led Government at Imphal, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has stated that the BJP led coalition has not done anything worthwhile in the last five years other than giving empty promises.

Virtually addressing Congress workers ahead of the Assembly election today, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the incumbent State Government doe not have the political will to solve the chronic issues of the State and work for the betterment of the people.

Providing safe drinking water and uninterrupted power supply to the people of Manipur is on top of the agenda of the Congress, she added.

Priyanka continued that the irrigation system is poor even in the Constituency of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and added that the Congress will review all the ongoing irrigation projects and strengthen it if elected.

She went on to state that promoting tourism will bring economic development in the State and generate employment opportunities.

Claiming that the BJP-led Governments at the Centre and State are creating division among the people based on religion and ethnicity, the AICC general secretary slammed the State Government for not holding Manipur Public Service Commission examination during the last five years.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also proposed to provide an unemployment allowance to all the unemployed youth of Manipur, if Congress is elected to power.

"We will secure the territorial integrity of Manipur, protect the civil rights and freedom and its historical boundaries," she asserted and also assured to promote harmony and peace in the State and do whatever to keep the people of Manipur united.

The AICC general secretary also promised to provide 33 percent reservation for women in all Government jobs in the State.

Bhakta Charan Das, AICC in-charge Manipur, N Loken Singh MPCC president, CLP leader O Ibobi, MPCC working presidents I Hemochandra, K Meghachandra, and former president, MPCC TN Haokip and other office bearers of MPCC were seated on the dais at Congress Bhavan, Imphal during the virtual address.
