Imphal, February 12 2022: Chief Minister N Biren has cate-gorically stated that Manipur has successfully overcome the restive situation which prevailed in the State before the last five years.

In connection with the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, BJP launched a 'creative campaign' today at Hotel Imphal.

The campaign kick-off function was attended by Chief Minister N Biren, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, BJP National spokesperson Sambit Patra, Ministers Th Biswajit, Vungzagin Valte, MLA Y Antas Khan and BJP Manipur Pradesh executive member Somatai Shaiza as presidium members.

Speaking at the gathering, N Biren stated that the incumbent BJP-led Government which was sworn in on March 15, 2017 is completing five years soon and a fresh election to elect a new Government is round the corner.

Manipur has been freed from the restive situation which prevailed in the State before the last five years, he said.

There are no more bandhs and blockades and reports of fake encounters are longer heard.

The once common sight of people standing in long queues overnight before oil pumps is no longer visible.

Security forces have stopped targeting student and Meira Paibi activists, Biren said.

The BJP-led Government was able to present a peaceful atmosphere to the people of the State, he said.

He went on to claim that the misunderstanding and conflict which existed among different communities have now been addressed satisfactorily.

Now all preparations have been made to form a BJP exclusive Government by adopting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Biren said and added that BJP would do everything to maintain the changes seen in the State during the last five years.

Later responding to a query raised by media persons, N Biren said that BJP National president JP Nadda would arrive at Imphal soon to release the party's election manifesto.

In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit the State to give an impetus to the party's election campaign, Biren said.

BJP National spokesperson Sambit Patra claimed that BJP would script a new political history in the country by securing landslide victory in all the five States which are going to polls.

Narendra Modi stands for Manipur and he is keen to work for the people of Manipur, Sambit Patra said.

BJP would form Government in Manipur for the second time and the party would take the State forward, he said.

The movement launched in 2014 to eradicate Congress party from the country has now reached a new milestone, he continued.

Elaborating on the works and projects undertaken by N Biren Government during the past five years, Sambit Patra said that BJP would maintain the momentum of success and development and at the same time ensure there is peace and stability in the State.

Commenting on the points listed in the Congress party's election manifesto, the BJP National spokesperson remarked that all the promises made by Congress party are lies.

A Sharda also gave a brief account of some major projects successfully executed by the Biren Government.

She said that BJP would carry foward these welfare activities by forming a new Government after securing two-third of the total Assembly seats of Manipur.

Two music video albums which would be shown on election campaign vans fitted with audio-visual systems were played at the gathering.
