Dimapur, September 11: James Kuki alias Letsei Haokip accused in the Elizabeth Lungnila murder case has been released on parole by the NSCN-IM.

Informing this to Newmai News Network today NSCN-IM Home Minister Rh Raising said that James Kuki alias Letsei Haokip along with his wife and their son born in the custody of the outfit were released on a PR bond of Rs.500,000 one week ago from the outfit�s council headquarters Hebron near Dimapur.

The outfit�s Kilo-Kilonser (Home Minister) stated that the accused had been released merely on medical ground and that James Kuki has to appear again at the NSCN-IM�s headquarters.

Rh Raising did not disclose when James Kuki was asked to appear by the NSCN-IM at its headquarter.

Efforts to contact James Kuki by NNN did not materialize.

Interestingly, James Kuki alias Letsei Haokip�s son who was born in the NSCN-IM�s headquarter has been christened Hebron Haokip after the outfit�s council headquarter�s name.

Reports from a separate source said that a female accomplice of James Kuki who had been detained by the NSCN-IM was released some months ago.

Mention may be made that Manipur erupted in anger and a long series of social unrest followed when the dead body of the eight year old school girl was found in a gunny bag after nine days of her abduction from near the victim�s school.

The Government of Manipur had to clamp curfew several times to control the pent up anger of the people of Manipur.

Elizabeth Lungnila, daughter of Manipur's Cabinet Minister Francis Ngajokpa was kidnapped on November 4, 2003 from near Little Flower School where she used to study and her lifeless half-decomposed body, dumped in a gunny bag and abandoned at Sangaiprou area in Imphal, was found on Nov 13.Following the disclosure of another accused Rome Singh who was cornered by the UNLF, James Kuki became the most wanted man in Manipur.

As news of the involvement of James Kuki in the gruesome murder spread, the public of Manipur launched a massive manhunt to corner him and his photograph was displayed in all the State dailies.

However, James Kuki gave the slip to the police and the public and managed to flee to Dimapur along with his pregnant wife where the NSCN-IM caught them.
