Abducted woman freed

Olina Ningshen (45) w/o Lukcyson Ningshen who was abducted by Myanmar based militants belonging to KNA(B) from Namlee village was released today.
A combined force of Myanmar based KNA(B) and PDF intruded into the Indian territory and attacked the border villages of Choro, Wanglee and Namlee on May 7 using sophisticated firearms and explosives.
The foreign militants set several houses on fire and abducted Olina Ninghsen along with some Burmese refugees taking shelter in the relief camps of Namlee.
However, a press release issued by the Hqs IG AR(S) said that the woman (Olina Ningshen) was abducted by KNA(B) and 'Village Volunteers Eastern Zone (VVEZ)' from Namlee.
"Due to concerted efforts by the Assam Rifles, the Tangkhul woman, Olina Ningshen was released today," it said.
According to Assam Rifles, the release took place south of Z Choro village, close to the incident area under the watch of Assam Rifles, intelligence and other agencies.
