Imphal, May 09 2009: The arrest of Khwairakpam Megha by commandos from Khagempalli as a cadre of KCP (MC) on May 6 and hand over of Megha to Imphal police station by 31 Assam Rifles two days later with the report that the individual was arrested from Moreh for being a PLA cadre have exposed the secret plots allegedly hatched by Chief Minister O Ibobi and his party to harass innocent people, asserted the proscribed RPF.

A press release issued by the RPF's department of publicity chief GM Changjou observed that abduction of K Megha (36) s/o late Pishak of Naorem Leikai, Liwa Road and mysterious hand over of the individual by 31 AR to Imphal police station have clearly testified that the security forces have been torturing innocent people in the most extreme manner.

The episode has unmasked the "reign of terror" unleashed by O Ibobi and his team leader DGP Y Joykumar in the State in the name of fighting insurgency, in their efforts to please their masters at New Delhi, the outfit alleged.

When Megha was arrested by a group led by Thangumang Lingel of Imphal East District Commando's Oscar-107 and 1st MR Rifleman Doukhochang Touthang on May 6, Megha was said to be a cadre of KCP (MC).

But when he was mysteriously arrested by troops of 31 AR from Moreh town on May 8, Megha was dubbed as S/S private of PLA.

Considering all these illogical statements and events, it was clear that paramilitary forces were also a party to the dirty game of Ibobi and his party.

The entire episode of the abduction of Megha by commandos and hand over by AR that unfolded in the last two days has also exposed the underlying current of the Government's "Peace Talk and SoO drama".

One leader of KCP (MC) could not take part in the meeting of Joint Monitoring Group held yesterday as he was assigned to take Megha to Moreh.

Very few persons could take Megha to Moreh from Imphal at the time when an intensive search was being carried out together with top police officers soon after the abduction of Megha, the outfit asserted.

The SPF Government led by O Ibobi has earned the distinction for the highest rate of violence and killings during its tenure.

With the motive to get more funds from New Delhi and to please Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi with counter insurgency measures, O Ibobi, his Council of Ministers and DGP Joykumar have been instrumental in killing innocent civilians on fabricated charges, the outfit alleged.

The drama of peace talk enacted by masquerading some of their followers as insurgent groups was a shrewd strategy aimed at taking huge amounts of money from the Government of India.

The outfit exhorted the people to check pushing youth into IRB and Police who have become notorious for their cruelty and losing their sense of who their parents, sisters, brothers an friends just for the sake of a few thousand rupees.

It further clarified that RPF and its armed wing PLA have no connection whatsoever with Khwairakpam Megha.
