Senapati, December 08 2015:
Joining other tribal bodies in supporting the ongoing tribal movement against the three infamous Bills passed by Manipur Assembly on August 31 and the subsequent uprising in CCpur leading to the death of nine persons, the United Naga Council (UNC) has endorsed the proposed "coffin rally" to be held at New Delhi tomorrow.
Organized by Manipur Tribals' Forum Delhi (MTFD), the rally with nine symbolic coffins will march to Parliament during the ongoing session.
The UNC noted that the tribals of Manipur stand firm against the agendas of the State Government and that the rally which is also part of the 100 days mourning must be supported by all tribals.
The UNC has appealed to all the tribals both residing within and outside the State to endorse the 'coffin rally' through participations, spiritual or moral support.
The rally is expected to gather at Jantar Mantar and will mark the completion of 100 days of continuous mourning and protest drawing attentions from all tribals around the country.
The MTFD and tribal bodies from both Manipur and outside have also met and submitted numerous representations to the Union Government.
