Conrad Sangma set to land here today

National People's Party (NPP) National president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is set to land at Imphal tomorrow on a two-day visit to the State.
According to top office bearers of NPP Manipur State unit, Conrad Sangma will be visiting the State in search of a roadmap to peace and a solution to the protracted crisis besieging Manipur since May 3, 2023 .
Earlier on October 4, NPP National working president James K Sangma issued a circular saying that Conrad Sangma would visit Manipur and Nagaland from October 9 to 11.Conrad Sangma will halt a night in Manipur and hold consultations to work out a roadmap for restoring peace and normalcy in Manipur in addition to initiating steps to strengthen NPP in Manipur, said the NPP Manipur office bearers.
Conrad Sangma would be accompanied by NPP National General Secretary (Organisation) Paknga Bage, NPP National Secretary Saidul Khan and National People's Youth Front (NPYF) National president Nickey Nongkhlaw.
The NPP National president and his team would land at Imphal Airport at 12.45 pm tomorrow.
At 1 pm, he would hold a meeting with several Meitei CSOs at Hotel Classic Grande followed by a similar meeting with Naga CSOs at 1.45 pm.
Conrad Sangma will also interact with IDPs from Moreh, Churachandpur and other places who are currently taking shelter in the valley areas at 2.30 pm in the conference hall of Classic Grande.
At 5 pm, the NPP National president will call on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan, and the two would talk about different issues including the current situation of Manipur and efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the State.
Later, Conrad Sangma will hold a joint meeting at 7 pm at Hotel Classic Grande with NPP MLAs, State executive members and party functionaries on strengthening NPP and scoring a bigger success in the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election which is due in 2027 .
After holding a press meet at the same hotel at 9.30 am on October 10, Conrad Sangma would leave for Dimapur on the Imphal-Dimapur highway.
On the way to Dimapur, he would interact with Kuki CSOs and IDPs at Kangpokpi.
Conrad Sangma and his team will have lunch at the residence of late MLA N Kayisii who also served as the president of NPP Manipur unit at Senapati.
