FOCS 'educates' Kuki CSOs

Imphal, August 07 2025: The Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS) Manipur has stated that it has no association with the indefinite bandh being imposed by the Foothills Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC) .

A press release issued by FOCS said that the allegation of the Working Community of Kuki Civil Society Organisations (WCKCSOs) that FOCS leader Th Manihar was behind the FNCC's bandh call is baseless.

FOCS stated that Th Manihar is their former president who had resigned over four months back.

WCKCSOs' wild allegation was an attempt to cover up their own wrongdoings, the Federation said and added that it takes the accusation very seriously.

Stating that the FNCC imposed the bandh in protest against issues including the construction of German Road/Tiger Road in Naga areas, and construction of designated camps for Kuki militant groups under the Suspension of Operation agreement near Naga villages, the Federation added that WCKCSOs' attempt to drag FOCS' name into the matter reveals their habit of distorting facts.
