Arms, ammo recovered; bunkers destroyed

In separate operations carried out in the last 24 hours, security forces have recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives.
A joint search operation conducted by the 18 Assam Rifles, 16 Assam Rifles and Saikul police resulted in the recovery of a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and war-like stores from Wakan village and the Champhai hill range today.
The recovered items include one carbine machine gun with two magazines, one .22 Sun automatic rifle with a magazine, one .32mm pistol with a magazine, thirteen hand grenades, nine tube launching mechanisms, sixteen signal carts for a 12 bore rifle, six 7.62 mm HD carts, twenty 7.62 mm live ammunition, nineteen .22 mm live ammunition, two hand grenade keys and four hand grenade caps.

In a separate operation, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police destroyed two bunkers on S Mongpi ridge of Kangpokpi and recovered one improvised 303 rifle, one 9mm pistol, one 12 bore single barrel, two long range improvised mortars and war like stores.
From an area under Yangoubung village on July 5, Moltuk COB Modi Battalion recovered one FGC 9 carbine with a magazine, one 9 mm auto pistol with one magazine and four rounds, one 9 mm pistol magazine, one lathode gun and five live rounds, two Tac phones, four pompi mortars and one ammunition, two single barrel guns and seven bullet-proof jackets.
