Imphal, August 04 2010: The observance of the 13th "Integrity Day" today pledged to remain intact and safeguard the state's integrity with a firm determination of both hill and valley people by defeating the effort of some vested interest group to build up disunity among the people.

The main function of the "Integrity Day" of the All Manipur United Clubs Organization (AMUCO) was held at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband even as other functions were held at other places of the state to mark historic rally taken out by the people of Manipur on August 4, 1997 .

The observance function, attended by people of different communities and tribes, resolved to stand united against division among the people of different communities and tribes alleging that government of India is trying to build disunity among the people under its adapted divide and rule policy.

It also resolved to give emphasis in improving the road communication system across the state so that people can communicate and live with harmony by extending cooperation to each other.

While resolving this, it was also mentioned that they will not wait for government initiative to improving the road communication but will take up voluntarily also.

Government of India is not taking serious when the national highways connecting the state with other part of the country were frequently cut-off and observing that by not interfering to this, Centre is trying to keep the people of the state away from the mainland, the observance function also resolved to take the help of the neighbouring country Myanmar in procuring essential items.

President of AMUCO, KT Rehman talked on the activities of the organisation for bringing harmony among the people of the state.

The organisation has been extending assistances at their level to the people in the remotes areas and hill when natural disasters hit them.

Volunteers of AMUCO had tracked all the way on foot into the interior areas in the effort to strengthen emotional integrity among the different communities and tribes.

Citing on endless problems facing by the people, he said that taking advantage of the NSCN(IM) talk with the GoI, a few NGOs are trying to create problems in the state of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

He also decried the UNC for calling the economic blockade repeatedly without considering the suffering of the people.

Leaders of UNC residing in Senapati is seemed not taking care of the plight of the people living in Chandel, Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Chandel districts where the more hardship are facing.

Addressing the gathering, advisor of AMUCO Dr Dhanabir Laishram dwelt on the need for all the communities in the state to strive for unity and good relationship of the ethnic groups in the state.

He urged all the communities of Manipur to work towards creating a 'composite' history rather than 'unit' history.

"If the present trend of various communities eking for unit history of their own respective communities continues, there will not be any future for Manipur," Dr Dhanabir Laishram said.

The advisor also urged the state government of Manipur to have a uniform development both in the hills and the valley of Manipur.

Noted film maker of Manipur Aribam Shyam Sharma while speaking on the occasion said that unless the human-value is uphold and promote no one can have a meaningful society.

He said that no religion teaches bad things but the vested interest elements deface the religions.

Professor Joykumar advocated that for the right policy so that the future generations do not face problem.

Meanwhile, large number of people turned up to paticipate at the programme at THAU Ground in Imphal inspite of the inclement weather.

Similar programmes were also held in Thoubal, Bishenpur and border town Moreh.

All Community Development Organisation (ACODOM) and Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup & Minority Womens development Society, Moreh jointly organised the 13th Manipur Integrity Day under aegis of AMUCO at Krishan Cinema hall at border town Moreh today.
