Imphal, June 30:
Reminding the Government of its earlier assurance on developing the waterfall in Sadu Chiru village under Senapati district as a tourist spot, Chiru Union, Manipur has urged for translating the assurance into action at the earliest possible.
Talking to mediapersons in this connection at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, spokesperson of the Union, Alar Thonthak recalled that along publishing the picture of the waterfall in calendar of the Tourism Department and describing its tourism potential in the souvenir of the Tourism Festival, the Tourism Minister had announced that scenic waterfall at Sadu Chiru will be developed as a tourist spot.
However, so far no steps have been initiated to translate the assurance into action.
So the development of the waterfall at Sadu Chiru which could have generated income to State coffer is still being neglected, he lamented.
He also appealed to all the people who are allegedly try-ing to mislead the public through coming out with different names of the waterfall located some 20 kms from Imphal along NH 150 to extend their support and co-operation in development of the said waterfall.
