Moirang, August 30 2025:
In connection with the 30th foundation day of the Development and Protection United Voluntary Organisation (DPUVO), Nambol, a mega blood donation camp was organised today at the Public Hall of Nambol Bazar along with an awareness programme.
The camp was jointly organised by DPUVO Nambol and IRCS Bishnupur District Branch in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS Imphal; NHM; SBTC Manipur Chhayatap Foundation and MACS.
Altogether 100 voluntary donors came forward to donate blood during the camp.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the donors as an encouragement.
Speaking in this connection, DPUVO Nambol secretary Th Lamjingba stressed that despite global scientific advancement, blood remains an irreplaceable resource that can only be donated by individuals.
He appealed to healthy men aged 18-65 to donate blood every three months, while women can do so every four months, to help reduce the scarcity of blood in Manipur.
He also expressed gratitude to all well-wishers and supporters of DPUVO for extending help in various forms - monetary, physical, and material, in making the blood donation camp a success.
