AR conducts medical camp

Continuing its civic outreach programmes, Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a medical and dental camp at Langthabal Kunja, Imphal west district today.
The camp was organised by Canchipur Company Operating Base (COB) of the Battalion with an aim to reach out to the needy and as a contribution towards ensuring well being of one and all, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South).
As part of the camp, a dedicated medical team under the Medical Officer of the Battalion provided medical assistance to the locals of the area.
In addition to the medical checkup, consultation on various diseases and health related issues as well as free medicines were distributed to the needy patients, said AR.
A mobile dental clinic was also established for the locals.
Medical team under the dental officer from 12 Dental Unit Assam Rifles (DAUR) provided free dental treatment and medicines to the attendees.
The camp concluded with an informative lecture to raise awareness on the harmful effects of tobacco and how it affects human health.
The Medical Officer enlightened the attendees on various chronic respiratory diseases, lung cancer and tuberculosis.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which various queries raised by the locals were clarified, said AR.
The medical camp received an overwhelming response from the local populace and over 250 locals benefited from the camp.
All the attendees conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles for the programme, added AR.
