Water Resources Minister inaugurates hostel

Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai inaugurated a newly constructed Hostel for Trainees and Officials at State Hydrological Data Centre, Lamphelpat.
The hostel was constructed under National Hydrology Project, Water Resources Department, Manipur with 100 percent funding from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India on an area of 243 Sq.m with 5 BHK.
Ningthoujam Geoffrey, Commissioner, Water Resources, Manipur; Remmei Alimmei, Chief Engineer, Water Resources Department, Manipur and other officials of the Water Resources Department also attended the inaugural function.
Speaking on the occasion, Awangbow Newmai congratulated the Engineers of the Water Resources Department for the inauguration of this Hostel and thanked the Ministry of Jal Shakti for funding this project.
"This construction of Hostel for Trainees and Officials will provide a significant, comfortable and conducive environment for our trainees and officials from far and near in the water sector to focus on their training and work", he added.
Notably, the hostel will provide a state-of-the art facility for trainees and officials, enabling them to focus on their critical work in hydrology and water resource management.
This project is a significant step towards enhancing the nation's hydrological capabilities and ensuring water security for future generations.
