SDAU marks golden jubilee with grand celebration

Thoubal, November 25 2025: The Social Development Athletic Union (SDAU), Tekcham, celebrated its golden jubilee today, marking 53 years of its establishment.

The event held at Tekcham High School Ground was graced by SDO Thoubal, Arvind Hanglem as chief guest; SDAU Tekcham President Meihoubam Lokendro Singh as functional president; and Deputy Director of Social Welfare Dept, Langpoklakpam Dhaneshwor Singh; and Tekcham GP chairperson Langpoklakpam Damayenti Devi as guests of honour.

During the programme, dignitaries and attendees offered floral tributes to the portrait of late members of the Union and observed a two-minute silence in honour of their departed soul.

As part of the celebration, achievers who have brought laurels to the State at the national and international levels were felicitated.

Meritorious students from the locality were also honoured with encouragement awards in recognition of their achievements.

In his address, chief guest Arvind Hanglem urged players and students to work hard with clear goals and dedication, reminding them that sincere effort is key to achieving success.

Later, a booklet highlighting the Union's past activities and achievements was also released during the function.
