Imphal, June 25 2021: Positivity rate remains above 10 per cent for eight consecutive days on Friday as government bulletins reported 585 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 4587 samples along with eight death cases.

The government bulletins also reported a whopping large number of 4083 recoveries including 3455 earlier recoveries, which were reported only in the last 24 hours owing to various reasons.

However, the reports did not mention the exact reasons.

The active caseload has now dropped to 5668 cases of which 2339 are in home isolation and 1790 are in CHICs.

As on Thursday 10 pm, 737 patients including 97 in ICU wards were in different hospitals with 336 patients including 31 post-Covid patients on oxygen support, 26 patients on ventilator support and 16 on non-invasive ventilator (NIV) support.

The CCCs have 802 patients with 84 on oxygen support.

During the current month, 16,005 new cases and 286 fatalities were reported and out of them 3810 new cases and 60 fatalities were added in the last seven days.

So far, 38,568 positive cases and 738 fatalities have been reported since the beginning of the year.

The State Level -19 Deaths Audit Committee reported eight Covid-19 casualties (4 males & 4 females) in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (1), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1) and Kakching (3).Three patients died at Shija Hospitals, two at JNIMS, and one each at RIMS, Raj Medicity and Jivan Hospital.

The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1093 .

Three of the victims were below 60 years and three did not have any co-morbid conditions.

According to official reports, all the 585 persons (292 males & 293 females) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (42), JNIMS (60), District Hospitals (313) and other testing centres (170) .

The positive cases are from Imphal East (101), Imphal West (212), Thoubal (69), Bishnupur (54), Kakching (31), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (53), Chandel (4), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (18), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (15), Kangpokpi (15) and Noney (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Apart from the 3455 earlier recoveries reported only in the last 24 hours, the actual number of persons discharged in the last 24 hours is 628, which include 330 from home isolation, 13 from RIMS, 5 from JNIMS, 86 from CCCs and 194 from CHICs (194).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 66,756 (general population - 62,948 and CAPF personnel - 3,808) .

Number of recovered cases is 59,995 (general population - 56,231 and CAPF personnel - 3,764) and number of active cases is 5,668 (general population - 5,629 and CAPF personnel - 39).The recovery rate is 89.87 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1795 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 324 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

District hospitals and government institutions have 479D and 94B type filled cylinders while the district/ sub-division wise delivery made in the last 24 hours is Bishnupur (227D,6B), Chandel (34D,9B), Churachandpur (79D,0B), Senapati (48D,0B), Thoubal (74D,32B), Ukhrul (34D,15B), Tamenglong (3D,0B), Jiribam (45D,12B), Moreh (18D,5B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (12D,12B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,0B) and CCCs (330D, 100B).As on Thursday, 5,15,590 persons have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and 82,814 of them have completed their second dose.

Only 5052 individuals were vaccinated on Thursday with 159 receiving their second jab.

Meanwhile, Pangantabi recorded a sudden jump in new Covid cases in the last two days even as 47 new positive cases were detected from 405 samples during RAT conducted in Kakching district on Friday.

As per report received from district IDSP, six cases were detected at Ema Hospital, four at Jivan Hospital and the remaining 37 including 20 from Pangantabi areas were detected at government RAT Centre.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (23,463), Imphal East (14,958), Thoubal (5447), Churachandpur (5223), Kangpokpi (1696), Tamenglong (2109), Bishnupur (4097), Senapati (1370), Ukhrul (1429), Kakching (3257), Chandel (1128), Noney (557), Tengnoupal (740), Jiribam (741), Kamjong (434) and Pherzawl (107).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (396), Imphal East (284), Thoubal (102), Churachandpur (86), Kangpokpi (28), Tamenglong (9), Bishnupur (78), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (61), Chandel (15), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 21,513 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,639 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 2,83,086 tests per million population against the national average of 2,86,784 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.64 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, only 4587 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 12.75 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.60 per cent.
