'One Manipur' event celebrates shared culture and heritage

Imphal, February 25 2026: A significant Cultural Confluence titled "One Manipur: Our food, Our culture, Our identity" was organised jointly by the Irabot Foundation Manipur (IFM), AMESCO, and AMACSU today at the USAC community Hall in Imphal West district.

As per a release issued by IFM, the event aimed to foster a sense of unity and shared identity among the diverse communities of Manipur through the celebration of their common heritage.

The event was graced by several prominent figures, including Kh Gopen Luwang, president, IFM; W Chinglemba, president, AMESCO; S Abung Sharma, president, of AMACSU; M Dhanabir Meitei, editor of Hueiyen Lanpao; and Ningombam Nimolchand, editor of Sanaleibak.

Kh Gopen Luwang stressed that the programme aims to unite Manipur, fostering a shared identity through culture and tradition.

He also highlighted the importance of shared food, customs, and language in reinforcing the "One Manipur" concept.

The event featured traditional dances, including Meitei Pung Cholom, and a spread of local delicacies like Chakhao Poireton and Yongchak, celebrating Manipuri heritage.
