NSCN Zeilad Zeliangrong Region issues prohibitory order to maintain peace

Tamenglong, January 25 2026: The Zeilad Zeliangrong Region, NSCN/GPRN, on Sunday issued a prohibitory order reaffirming its commitment to maintaining peace and tranquility within the jurisdiction of the Zeilad Region.

According to the statement, individuals or groups have been cautioned against moving within the erstwhile Zeilad jurisdiction in a suspicious manner or carrying arms and life-threatening objects.

The organisation warned that strict vigilance will be maintained against unauthorised trespassing, and any intruders intercepted will be held responsible for any untoward incidents.

The order also expressed concern over alleged lack of transparency, absenteeism of staff and irregular functioning of certain government departments in Tamenglong district, despite employees drawing monthly salaries.

All department heads have been urged to ensure smooth functioning of their respective offices through proper administrative channels, failing which they would be held accountable during vigilance checks.

The organisations further appealed to civil society organisations, students bodies and youth wings to extend cooperation in the ongoing cleaning drive, stressing the need for collective responsibility in maintaining order and civic discipline.
