9th State Level Aquarium Exhibition cum Flower Show concludes

Imphal, October 24 2024: The 9th State Level Aquarium Exhibition cum Flower Show organised by Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC) concluded today at Manipur Science Aquarium, DM University campus, Imphal.

The seven days Aquarium Exhibition cum Flower Show was organised by MASTEC in association with local aquarists and floriculturists of the State, said a release.

The main activities of the programme were exhibition of locally available indigenous fishes and plants along with exotic varieties, aquascaping competition, lecture series for college students and training workshop on fabrication of aquarium and its management.

About 50 varieties of local and exotic fishes, 120 plants/flowers, 30 bonsai, 50 indigenous plants were displayed during the exhibition.

13 aquascapers participated in the Aquascaping competition.

Rahul Hanglem of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi, Th Dikash Singh of Keishamthong Moirang Ningthou Leirak and Th Bhoj Sai of Khongman Mangjil won the First, Second and Third positions respectively in the Aquascaping competition.

Prof N Mohilal Meitei, Director, CDC, Manipur University; Prof L Hemchandra Singh, Head, Department of Zoology, DM College of Science and Dr L Minaketan Singh, Director, MASTEC distributed certificates with cash prizes and mementos to the winners and participants during the closing function.
