ILP stir: JCILPS Women's Wing storms Cong Bhavan

Carrying forward the collective demand for enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in the State in order to monitor influx of outsiders who have come to pose a serious threat to existence of indigenous people, members of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), Women's Wing tried to storm the Chief Minister bungalow today.
After their attempt to storm the CM bungalow was foiled by security personnel near BT Road, the women protesters then stormed the Congress Bhavan.
Later on, only six of them were allowed to enter the bhavan where they met Bidyapati Senjam, general secretary of MPCC.
During the interaction, the protesters demanded him to provide a firm stand of the Congress party on implementation of ILP system in the State.
There, the Congress leader assured that the party's decisive stand on ILP will be made public within ten days.
After the meeting, the protesters were forced to retreat to Gandhi Memorial Hall.

Meanwhile, stepping up the ongoing mass movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State, an auto rally was organized by All Moirang & Ningthoukhong Diesel Auto Owners' & Drivers' Co-ordinating Committee in collaboration with United Diesel Auto Owners' & Drivers' Association, Moirang; All Moirang Auto Rickshaw Owners' Association; Self Employee Auto Rickshaw & Drivers' Association; Self Employment Diesel Auto & Tata Magic Association, Ningthoukhong to Moirang and Self Employment Auto Diesel owners' Association, Ningthoukhong to Bishnupur today.
After passing through several routes, the massive rally which was flagged off from Bishnupur Bazar ended at Chingei Ground where a public meeting was held.
The meeting unanimously resolved to identify non-locals amongst passengers travelling in diesel auto and Tata Magic by respective drivers and hand over those who were found without proper identification documents to nearest police station.
It also resolved to fully endorse all steps taken up by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) which is spearheading the ongoing demand for implementation of ILP system.
On the other hand, public meetings on ILP held at Sanjen Chirang Mayai Leikai Bamon Mandap and Charangpat Mayai Leikai have demanded the government to implement the ILP system in the State without any further delay.
A sit-in-protest was also staged at Jiri Lamkhai demanding enforcement of ILP system in the State.
On the other hand, under the aegis of JCILPS, a sit-in-protest was staged at Jiribam Agriculture Farm Lamkhai wherein around 100 people participated.
During the protest demonstration, several placards reading, 'Implement ILP system in the State soon', 'Save indigenous people', 'Regulate influx of non-locals' etc were displayed.
In connection with the ILP demand, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Kakching Zonal Council under the aegis of JCILPS, Students' Wing organized a cycle rally at Kakching Lamkhai.
The rally which was flagged off by president of DESAM Kakching Zonal Council, Md Ibungo ended at Kakching Lamkhai after passing Sekmaijin Bazar, Ithai and Wangoo. Around 100 students coming from different schools took part in the cycle rally.
