District Administration orders removal of unauthorized structures in Thoubal by July 30

Thoubal, July 23 2025: The Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, Hannah Kamei has issued a directive to all unauthorised encroachers and concerning parties within the district of Thoubal, ordering the removal of all illegal structures, items and debris from public spaces by July 30, 2025 .

The order follows increasing incidents of illegal occupation through the construction of structures such as house extensions/shops/sheds or structures either permanently or temporarily along town and public places of Thoubal district, causing significant inconvenience to the public and obstructing to the traffic posing safety hazards and public nuisances to the commuters.

Failure to comply with the order shall invite strict penal action under relevant Act and will lead to eviction, demolition and removal of structures by the District Administration, District Police and various line departments and the concerned encroacher shall bear all the cost for removal of structures/ debris, added the notification.
