Tree plantation programme held at Kabowakching Nambol

Imphal, June 23 2025: The tree plantation campaign of "Women For Trees" today conducted a tree plantation programme today at Kabowakching Nambol.

It was jointly organised by the Nambol Municipal Council, in collaboration with the Town Planning Department Manipur and the Manipur Urban Development Agency (MUDA) .

The programme was conducted under the theme of "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam/Upal ama Emagi Mingda", a campaign initiated under AMRUT Mitra of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0) .

The event was graced by Ch Basanta Singh, caretaker chairperson of Nambol Municipality, Nongthombam Benju Singh, Chief Town Planner/State Mission Director, AMRUT 2.0, councillors of NMC along with officers from Town Planning Dept and MUDA Manipur.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from the women Self-Help-Groups (SHGs) under the aegis of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) and local residents, who actively took part in planting saplings at the designated locations near the Kabowakching Makha Leikai Pukhri Achouba, where "Water Body Rejuvenation Project" is taken up under AMRUT 2.0 .
