RSS observes Khongjom Day

Imphal, April 23 2026: Paying homage to the heroes of Anglo-Manipur War of 1891, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Imphal Jilla commemorated the 135th observance of Khongjom Day at Bhaskara Prabha in Konjeng Leikai, Imphal.

Floral tributes were offered before the photo of Paona Brajabashi during the ceremony which saw the attendance of around 40 swayamsevaks from Imphal.

Notable members of RSS Manipur Prant present include MM Asokan, Laishram Jatra Singh, Mrityunjaya and Kh Binanda Singh among others.

At the event, Varishta Pracharak Laishram Jatra Singh, State executive member, RSS Manipur Prant, spoke at length about the Battle of Khongjom.

He expressed hope that Khongjom Day will help instill the Manipuri forefathers' ideals of bravery and dedication for the State in people.

Stating that lack of unity has been the root cause of many unfortunate episodes in the State's history, Laishram Jatra called upon the people to imbue the youth with the ideas of unity and love for Manipur.
