Biren thanks Shah for efforts to restore peace

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying that the BJP leader's efforts to restore peace in the north-eastern state showed that it holds a special place in his heart.
Amit Shah turned 60 on Tuesday.
"Warmest birthday greetings to Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji.
Your tireless dedication and commitment to the service of our great nation inspire millions.
Your leadership, rooted in values of unity and security, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of people across India," Biren said in a post on X.The people of Manipur deeply appreciate the union home minister's unwavering love and concern for the state, he said.
"Your visits, words of encouragement, and sincere efforts to restore peace and harmony have shown that Manipur holds a special place in your heart," the CM said in the post.
Manipur, a BJP-ruled state, has been in the grip of ethnic violence since May last year, in which more than 220 people have been killed.
"May this year bring you continued strength, wisdom, and good health to guide our country towards greater harmony and prosperity.
Manipur stands with you in gratitude and admiration, wishing you a blessed year ahead," the chief minister said.
On the other-hand N Biren on Tuesday said that the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), which is under construction at Mayangkhang in Senapati district, will offer world-class education and open new avenues for the youth of the region.
"Delighted to share the progress of two significant projects in Senapati District that are poised to bring transformative change.
The HIT Mayangkhang, a prestigious institution of higher learning, will offer world-class education and open new avenues for the youth of the region," Biren Singh said in a post on X.Besides, the construction of a multi-level parking facility - the first of its kind in Manipur - is underway, aimed at improving infrastructure and easing transportation challenges, he said.
"These projects are not just about physical development; they reflect our broader vision for a bright and prosperous future for the hill districts of the state," the chief minister said.
Chief minister N Biren Singh returned to the state from New Delhi on Tuesday after attending different political events and meeting the central leaders.
N Biren landed at Imphal airport around 2 pm Tuesday in an Indigo flight, which also had MLAs Kh Ibomcha of Lamlai and Sapam Kunjakeshor (Keba) of Patsoi.
On learning that the CM will be back from New Delhi, many media persons waited at the airport but he left along with his security escorts without a pause.
Notably, Biren attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in Haryana led by CM Nayab Singh Saini and also attended NDA chief ministers' council meet, both held in Chandigarh.
During his stay in New Delhi, CM Biren along with works minister Govindas Konthoujam met Union minister Kiren Rijiju and discussed about development of sports infrastructures in Manipur.
Biren along with Govindas and state officials also attended a review meeting of national highway projects in the North East convened by Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday.
