Workshop on Ayushman Bharat conducted

MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C S Subashchandra has appealed the public to provide truthful and comprehensive information in the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) in order to get the benefits of Ayushman Bharat scheme, saying the eligibility for the said scheme is based on SECC database.
He was speaking as the chief guest in the one day workshop on Ayushman Bharat which was organized by Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Gol, Imphal at its auditorium at Wangkhei Yonglan Leirakim Imphal East yesterday.
He went on to point out that majority of the people tend to provide wrong information at the time of conducting surveys by authorities concerned, as they often feel ashamed in revealing their status of abject poverty, lack of proper toilet facility in their homes etc.
People should expose the true living condition, lifestyle especially in survey reports and the local bodies involved in conducting surveys like Pradhans and ward members should also visit home to home and gather/collect true information of the people.
This will avoid insertion of wrong information in SECC data so that beneficiaries can benefit and avail facilities of various relevant projects and schemes like Ayushman Bharat while the same scheme and programmes will be fruitful also, he added.
He also exuded confidence that the task of raising awareness about Ayushman Bharat to the masses that will be carried out by cultural troupes from the State, will be successful as the troupes include renowned artistes from the State.
Additional DG , ROB, Imphal SK Malviya who attended as president of the workshop conveyed that Ayushman Bharat scheme give special thrust on creating proper health infrastructure in the form of health and wellness centres as well as comprehensive insurance project for the citizens of the country, which aims to cover 40 percent cover with 10 crore families and 50 crore people.
Asserting that it is the world's largest health initiative that gives more focus to women and children, he opined that the present health scenario in the country will be improved with the effective implementation of the scheme.
The Central Government will be funding 60 percent of the total budget of the scheme while the remaining 40 percent would be produced by the respective State Governments, he informed and expressed hope that the employees of ROB, Imphal will do tremendous job in creating awareness among the masses about the scheme.
Health and Family Welfare Joint Secretary N Bandana Devi who attended as guest of honor conveyed that Ayushman Bharat Scheme provides extensive health care facilities with the inclusion of non-communicable diseases, heart ailments, hypertension among other ailments as well as Yoga and other health tips under the scheme.
She informed that the State Health Department has already started standardization of the health and wellness centres in several districts, including Thoubal and Imphal West as part of the initiatives taken up under the scheme.
Observing that a holistic approach is needed for the proper implementation of the scheme, she maintained that it (the scheme) will not be a success if the public is not sensitised and extend their cooperation.
Contending that the health indicator of the State, like the low maternal mortality, rate (MMR), is relatively better as compared to other parts of India, she opined that it can be enhanced from the present status when the department concerns, media and stakeholders take up their respective responsibilities.
Many other representatives of ROB, Imphal and health departments also attended at the function.
