Kishan Sammelan, Seed Distribution Programme held

Imphal, November 21 2024: Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal incollaboration with Seva Bharati Manipur and Mobile Based Agro Advisory Services, Manipur organised a Farmers-Scientist Meeting cum Seed Distribution Programme at Haraorou, Imphal East district on Thursday.

During the programme, faculties and scientists of College of Agriculture, Iroisemba interacted with the farmers and shared their expertise in crop cultivation practices, said a release issued by CAU Imphal.

A mini rice mill, solar dryer, farm implements, French beans, field pea, coriander, vegetable seed kits, hand hoe and Kharpi were distributed to the farmers of Haraorou.

About 110 farmers benefited from the programme.

Moreover, CAU, Imphal in collaboration with Bharatiya Kishan Sangh, Manipur Prant on Wednesday organised Kishan Sammelan 2024 at Oinam, Bishnupur district.

The main highlight of the programme was technology transfer to the beneficiary farmers of the district.

During the event inputs like rapeseed mustard seeds, vegetable seed kits (consisting of seven different vegetable seeds from NEH component of IIHR Bangalore), sickle, hoe, oats seeds, cabbage seeds, coriander seeds, Indian bean seeds, palak and radish (from NEH components of IIVR) were distributed to the fanners.

A total of 50 farmers attended the Kishan Sammelan.
