Imphal, April 21 2026 :
Nimrat Kaur, a Class VIII student at Sainik School Imphal, has brought significant honors to both her institution and the state of Manipur.
Following her success in the International Space Science Olympiad (ISSO), Kaur was selected as a State representative for a prestigious educational visit to India's premier space research facilities.
As per a release issued by Sainik School Imphal, Kaur's journey began with her outstanding performance in the Tier-I and Tier-II examinations of the ISO, which focused on the "History of ISRO".
Her high ranking secured her a place among a select group of students nationwide invited to tour several key scientific hubs in Ahmedabad, including Vikram Sarabhai Space Station, Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Space Applications Centre (SAC), and IN-SPACe.
The highlight of the programme took place on April 16 and 17, 2026, when students visited the space station.
During this visit, Cadet Kaur had the rare opportunity to interact directly with India's leading scientists and astronauts, gaining first-hand insight into the nation's space exploration efforts.
At the concluding awards ceremony, Kaur was presented with a Silver Medal and an official Certificate of Merit.
