Imphal, January 21 2009:
THE DELEGATION of the 13th Finance Commission arrived in Imphal Wednesday and started site inspection to various places in Imphal areas where development works under various Central sponsored schemes are taking up.
The delegation led by its chairman Dr Bijoy Kelkar has inspected the Khuman Lampak Sport Complex, the Kangla fort, JN Hospital, Imphal where infrastructures for upgrading into a medical institute is in progress, a government primary school and an anganwadi centre today.
So far no comment is given regarding the works taken up at the sites by the delegation.
The delegation is scheduling to hold a meeting with Manipur Governor, Gurbachan Jagat at Raj Bhavan tonight.
Earlier, the delegation of the 13th finance commission arrived at around 10.30 am at a helipad inside Kangla forth from Kohima, the capital of neighbouring state Nagaland state which they were received by the top officials of the Manipur government.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland government intimated the Manipur government that the charge incurred in hiring the MI-helicopter for the journey of the chairman and officials of the finance commission will be borne by them.
