The National Mega Sericulture Technology Transfer Campaign, "Mera Resham, Mera Abhiman 2.0", concluded in Imphal West on August 20 after covering various sericultural belts of the district.
Organised from August 10 to 20, 2026, the campaign conducted nine programmes aimed at transferring improved sericulture technologies and scientific practices to farmers and stakeholders.
The objective was to strengthen sericultural activities and enhance productivity across the district.
The campaign was jointly led by Dr Thangjam Ranjita Devi, Scientist-C, Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, West Bengal, and H Lakshmi, Assistant Director, Department of Sericulture, Imphal West.
The programmes provided a platform for direct interaction between scientists, departmental officials and sericulture farmers.
Through field level demonstrations and technical guidance, participants were encouraged to adopt improved rearing practices, disease management and post-cocoon technologies.
Officials said the campaign marks a significant step towards modernising the sericulture sector in Manipur through scientific intervention, technology dissemination and closer coordination between research institutions and
field-level departments.
