YMCA organises career counselling programme in Silchar

Imphal, April 20 2026:
The Academic and Career Counselling Cell of the Young Manipuri Council, Assam, organised a one-day career counselling programme titled "Pathways to Future" at Rajiv Bhawan Conference Hall in Silchar, Assam on Sunday.
The programme was attended by Young Manipuri Council, Assam, president Romen Luwang; Manipuri Autonomous Council Demand Coordination Committee, Assam, chairman Kangabam Shantee Kumar; Social Activist Surjya Kumar Sharma; All Assam Women Meira Paibi, president Konjengbam Aruna; and SS Career Solution, Senior Career Counsellor Sanjenbam Silomi.
During the inaugural session, YMCA chief advisor Dr Raju Khumanthem; along with advisors Sinam Ibocha; Okram Lakhikanta and Laisom Mani; and finance secretary Kshetrimayum Indrakumar, felicitated the dignitaries by presenting simple gifts.
In the technical session, Senior Career Counselor Sanjembam Silomi delivered an insightful presentation, guiding students and guardians on choosing suitable and meaningful career paths for a successful future.
Additionally, Professor Khumujam Dhiren of the Linguistics Dept, Assam University, and Asst Executive Engineer of the Water Resource Dept, Govt of Assam, Akhom Chandmani, shared their experiences and offered valuable perspectives on career opportunities.
The YMCA expressed gratitude to Tina Naorem, psychologist of SS Career Solution, and OSD Dijendro Meikam for their support in organising the programme.
The council also appealed to the public to extend cooperation and encouragement for similar initiatives to be conducted in other parts of Assam.
