Workshop on "Technique of Paper Setting & Evaluation" begins

Imphal, August 19 2024: A 5-day workshop on "Technique of Paper Setting & Evaluation" organised by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) began today at the jubilee hall of Dhanamanjuri College of Teacher Education (DMCTE), Imphal.

The inaugural function was graced by COHSEM, Chairman, Takhellambam Ojit Singh; COHSEM, Secretary, Khundrakpam Ashikumar; COHSEM, Controller of Examination, Oinam Joy Singh and DMCTE, Principal, Dr RK Lokendra Singh as presidium members.

The workshop began with the lighting of candles and presentation of "Lengyan-phi" to the dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Takhellambam Ojit said that the New Education Policy (NEP) which was introduced in 2020 has brought about changes in syllabi and restructured the grading system.

He also stressed on the importance of having good quality questions in exam papers to ensure that the intended knowledge, understanding and skills are assessed.

"Question papers should be framed in a clear, easily understandable language and without any vagueness", said the Chairman while adding that it is essential for teachers to have a very good understanding of the syllabus and curriculum.

The function culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by O Joy Singh.
