Imphal, September 18, 2010: Two days after the latest attack on the lives of non-Manipuris in Imphal area, Imphal West district police claimed a breakthrough in the case with the arrest of two RPF/PLA cadres and four sympathizers including three women.

The district police commandos today claimed to have arrested two RPF/PLA cadres, self styled 2nd Lieutenant (no.1170) Phanjoubam Abung Meitei aka Nabachandra aka Ramesh aka Sanajaoba (34) son of Ph Bira of Andro Mamang Leikai and self styled sergeant major (no.1800) Nameirakpam Naoba aka Nanao aka Shanker (28) son of N Bibhu of Koirou part-II.

Abung was arrested from Nagamapal Laimayum Leirak on 14 Sept.

Police charged he was deputed in Imphal to organise the raising day of PLA on September 25.Naoba was arrested yesterday.

With their arrest, police have claimed to have solved the case of the shooting dead Mohon Shah (45) of Lua village of Bihar's Khangaria district on August 24 at Wahengbam Leikai, the attempt to kill 16-year old Sandeep Shahu of Pibrahiya of Bishar's Sapra district at Hodam Leirak on Sept 9 and shooting and injuiring non-Manipuri, Rajendra Rajak of Arwol district of Bihar at Takhel Leikai on the night of September 16. They were covert RPF/PLA proxy killers under the command of Thounaojam Romen aka Romen Luwang aka Robin (42) son of Netra of Naoremthong Khullem Leikai who is presently holding the post of administrative/liaison officer of the outfit.

He was assisted by who used Naoba 'sympathizers/peoples militias' identified as Gurumayum Gunadhor Sharma aka Khamba (30) son of late G Madhumangol Sharma of Saiton Salang Konjil present residing at Singjamei Sapam Leikai and one Abung, additional SP Imphal west AK Jhaljit today.

Based on the disclosure made by Nanao, police came to know that self styled Major Robin instructed him to kill non-Manipuris at any opportunity available using local people sympathizers or drug addicts in such a manner that PLA/RPF could later deny involvement in the event of arrests of the killers by the police, the additional SP added.

Nanao then selected Gunadhor and Abung and handed over one 9 mm pistol, one M-20 pistol loaded with seven live rounds in each magazine and one Honda Activa ater training them how to use the guns.

They used the arms and the Activa Honda in shooting non-Manipuris in Imphal at opportune moments in the month of August 2010, he said.

Robin is lying low somewhere in the Indo-Burma border, after the killings of non-Manipuris and the arrest of Nanao.

There were purchases of vehicles, mobile phones, rent, etc for the mission headed by self styled major Robin.

The money was raised through local sympathizers.

In the follow up action, four sympathizers/harbourers were also nabbed.

They were Soibam Rocket (40) son of Late S Jugeshwor of Singjamei Thongam Leikai, Naorem Sobhabati Devi aka Inao (40) wife of N Bhume Meitei of Kakwa Makha Leikai Naorem Leikai, Naorem Graphi Chandu aka Dede (21) daughter of N Bhume Meitei of Kakwa Makha Naorem Leikai and Naorem Rina Chanu aka Ibeyaibi (32) daughter of N Joy Meitei of the same locality, the officer added.
