Kangpokpi, April 18 2026:
The Kuki People's Alliance (KPA) on Friday formally declared the results of its Central Committee election, unveiling a new leadership team for the 2026-2030 term.
According to an official declaration issued by the Returning Officer, the election was held at the party's office in Churachandpur's Little Woods, Rengkai, on April 17 .
The newly elected Central Committee will assume office with immediate effect.
Senior leader and sitting MLA Chinlunthang Manlun (Singhat AC) was elected as president, Saikul MLA Kimneo Hangshing as vice president.
Sominthang Doungel as general secretary, with NJ Haoneo Baite as joint secretary.
Hemkholun Touthang takes charge as secretary (finance), Gracy Haokip as treasurer, and Lamgouthang Chongloi as information secretary.
The party stated that the new committee will hold office until 2030 or until the next election, whichever is earlier.
Political observers view the reshuffle as significant, particularly at a time when regional parties in Manipur are recalibrating their strategies amid evolving political dynamics.
The inclusion of sitting legislators in key leadership roles is expected to strengthen the party's influence both organisationally and legislatively.
The announcement marks a fresh phase for the KPA as it prepares to expand its political footprint in the State.
