Imphal, November 17 2025: The newly re-constituted Press Advisory Committee of Manipur Legislative Assembly held its first meetingtoday.

The meeting elected The Sangai Express (Manipuri edition) Editor and Editors' Guild Manipur president Khogendra Khomdram as the chairman of the committee for the term 2025-26.All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and Hyderabad Headlines Correspondent Asem Bhakta was elected vice-chairman.

Manipur Legislative Assembly Director Raju Yanglem, Deputy Director N Robindro and PRO Yumlembam Nikesh too attended the meeting and deliberated on accurate and detailed reporting of news related to the State Assembly.

The meeting also discussed organising a media workshop in this regard.

After the meeting, members of the Press Advisory Committee talked with Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata and talked about the roles of the committee.

Notably, Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretary Rohit Sapam issued an order on October 27 regarding reconstitution of the Press Advisory Committee.

Other members of the committee are Peter Adani, Khwairakpam Naoba, S Sonia, L Nripeshwar and Ch Bipusen.
