Nanhi Muskan health camp benefits over 200 children in Thoubal

Thoubal, July 17 2026:
Under the Nanhi Muskan (LittleSmile) Project, the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, in collaboration with the District Administration, Thoubal.
and the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Thoubal, organised a multidisciplinary health camp for children from Child Care Institutions in the district at the Election Counting Hall.

The initiative aimed to provide comprehensive healthcare services to underprivileged children through a multidisciplinary outreach programme.
Specialist doctors from the Departments of Dermatology, Otolaryngology (ENT) and Paediatrics of RIMS, Imphal, offered free medical consultations and treatment to more than 200 children during the camp.
Free medicines were also distributed to the beneficiaries.
The health camp was formally launched by Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, Robita Yumnam, who also unveiled awareness posters carrying messages on the prevention of child marriage, protection of children under the POCSO Act, and elimination of child labour.
