National Integration Tour: Manipur delegation meets National leadership in New Delhi

Imphal, February 17 2026:
As part of the ongoing National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Assam Rifles under its Civic Action Programme, representatives of Civil Society Organisations from Tengnoupal, Chandel and Kakching districts of Manipur engaged in significant interactions with national leadership in the capital today.
The IGAR (South) in a release said that the delegation, comprising 23 members supported by 45 personnel, met Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area.
The General Officer emphasised the crucial role of the Armed Forces in safeguarding sovereignty and preserving unity in diversity, encouraging the participants to act as ambassadors of peace and development within their communities.
Later, the delegates called on Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs.
The Minister commended the resilience and cultural richness of the people of Manipur, reaffirming the Government's commitment to inclusive development, improved connectivity and lasting peace in the Northeast.
He urged the participants to contribute actively to nation-building and communal harmony.
These engagements provided the delegation with valuable exposure to governance frameworks and national security perspectives, instilling pride and strengthening their sense of responsibility towards progress in Manipur.
In the evening, the group departed by train for Guwahati and Shillong, continuing the next phase of their journey of integration and shared national identity.
