Awareness programme on road safety held

Imphal, January 17 2025:
A "7 Days Exhibition cum Awareness on Road Safety" organised by People For Political Rights and Responsibility, Manipur (PPRRM) under the aegis of Traffic Control Police, TCP Wing Manipur began today at Kangla Western Gate.
The inaugural function was graced by SP TCP Manipur, Pramesh Arambam; GM-MSPDCL (ECI), Angom Priyoranjan Singh and PPRRM medical head, Dr Jupiter Sanasam as presidium members.
At the event, Pramesh Arambam said that the National Road Safety Month is being organised from January 1 to Jan 31, 2025, to propagate the cause of safer roads for all.
He asserted that the initiative aims to sensitize the public about common errors while driving, importance of road safety and their role in keeping roads safe.
Highlighting that 75 cases of road accidents were reported in the year 2024, he urged all to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations to prevent road accidents.
"Traffic rules are in place for our own safety and the safety of others", he added.
Pramesh Arambam also spoke on the Motor Vehicles Act and Intelligence Traffic Management System.
