A commemorative function in honour of Pukhramba Kajao who fought against British imperialists will be held at his native village of Kangmong in Imphal West district on his death anniversary on May 25 under the aegis of the Pukhramba Kajao Memorial Trust, Manipur, informed a press release issued by the Trust.
The main features of the death anniversary observance will be paying of floral tributes at the tomb of the martyr and a symposium on "Pukhramba Kajao of 1891 War".
The symposium will be moderated by Arambam Lokendro while Hareshwar Goswami, S Kaoba and N Joykumar will speak on different topics.
It may be recalled that Pukhramba Kajao was martyred after he was hanged to death by British imperialists on May 25, 1891.
