JJGD 2025: PM's live address telecasted at CCpur, Tamenglong, Ukhrul

In connection with the celebration of Janjantiya Gaurav Diwas (JJGD) 2025, District Administration, Churachandpur joined a oneway live screening address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's from the National JJGD event at Gujarat, at DC's Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
Simultaneously, similar live public viewings of the Prime Minister's address were also arranged by SDOs at sub-divisional level of the district.
The event witnessed participation from DLOs and students from schools of Churachandpur district.
Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas was observed in Tamenglong today with a programme organised by the District Administration at the EMRS ground, Farmlane.
The event brought together administrators, civil leaders, educators and students to commemorate tribal leaders and renew calls for awareness of tribal rights.
Kachamthai F Gangmei, MCS and Chief Executive Officer of the Autonomous District Council, Tamenglong, delivered the welcome address.
A brief biography of Bhagwan Birsa Munda was presented by Namsurei Thomas Kamei, Assistant Professor of Economics, Tamenglong College.
Thomas traced Birsa Munda's rebellion against the oppressive policies of the colonial period that reduced many indigenous people to tenants on their ancestral lands, and underscored Birsa's role in mobilising people against exploitation.
Cultural items were staged by EMRS students, including a Harvesting Dance and a skit titled Karmiputra Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
A folk song was rendered by Guilinliu Gangmei.
Floral tributes were offered to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu by the dignitaries and attending civil leaders.
Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS, Addl Deputy Magistrate, attended the function as chief guest.
The programme was also attended by Lanmiyo Luikham, MPS, SP, Tamenglong; D Meidinbui, SDO Tamenglong; Dr Majachunglu Gangmei, CMO; N Abonpou Christopher, MES, ZEO; Premson T Panmei, Assistant Engineer, PHED; Joel Gangmei, Range Officer, Forest Department; as well as DLOs, CSO leaders and students.
The event included a live screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address on the 150th Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, during which he laid the foundation stone for 50 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across the country-one of them being EMRS Pallong.
A separate programme held at EMRS Pallong village, Tamei Sub-Division was attended by Namsinrei Panmei, former Chairman of ADC Tamenglong; Renee Newmai, MCS, SDO Tamei; along with civil leaders from surrounding villages.
Separately, District Administration, Ukhrul organized a programme to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.
Ngamreiwung Luithui, MCS, SDO/BDO Lungchong Meiphai in his speech delved into the contributions of tribal freedom fighters, the shared aspirations, and the various Government programmes presently executed in the tribal region in order to achieve people's aspirations.
The District Master Trainers, Block Nodal Officers and Block Master Trainers also shared their experiences of working at various levels.
Meanwhile, the District Administration handed out certificates of acknowledgement to achievers in the fields of art and culture, weaving and entrepreneurship at the event.
The programme was participated by various line departments, students and locals of Ukhrul.
A live telecast of the Prime Minister's speech at Dediyapada, Gujarat was also screened on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh observation.
The same live telecast of the PM's speech was also viewed at all Block Headquarters of Ukhrul District.
