Pedal power: 'Sunday on Cycle' pushes fitness

Imphal, February 15 2026:
A "Sunday on Cycle" event, organised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), STC Imphal in collaboration with DM College of Science, was held today to promote physical fitness and well-being within the community.
The cycle rally was flagged off by the Principal of DM College of Science, Prof Kshetrimayum Birbal Singh, who was the chief guest for the event.
Around 100 students from the college participated in the rally.
Speaking at the event, Prof Birbal emphasized that cycling helps individuals maintain physical fitness and enhances mental well-being.
He stated that a person with poor physical health cannot think positively for society.
He urged everyone to dedicate some time daily to exercise to stay healthy.
Dronacharya Awardee Leishangthem Ibomcha, former Deputy Director of SAI STC Imphal, also addressed the participants, highlighting that health is wealth.
He stressed the importance of exercising rather than remaining sedentary, as a healthy community leads to a developed society and nation.
The rally started at DM College of Science, winding through JN Dance Academy, Kangla Pat, Nityapath Chuthek, Sanjenthong, and Checkon, before ending back at the college.
