Hit by bullet a year ago, youth continues to suffer, urges Government for assistance

A youth who was injured by a bullet during the Pallel agitation on September 8, 2023, has urged Government and the public for assistance.
A year after the incident, Mayanglambam Shyamsunder alias Inaobi, from Kakching Makha Leikai Sabal Asangba Pareng, is still unable to stand up and walk.
Shyamsunder is son of Late Mayanglambam Tomchou.
He was hit on the right thigh by a bullet fired by security forces on the public agitating, amid the Manipur crisis, near Pallel bridge on September 8, 2023 .
While the bullet injury has healed, the infections it caused have lingered even after a year.
Doctors have advised further treatment and an operation to cure the infections, said Shyamsunder.
Speaking to reporters at his residence, Shyamsunder said the bullet struck his right thigh.
The impact of the bullet affected the ligament causing him problems in standing up and walking.
There is swelling on the foot and sole due to infections.
While the doctors have advised further treatment and an operation, the family has no money, Shyamsunder said.
Shyamsunder said he was the sole breadwinner of the family but, due to the bullet injury and infections it has caused, he has trouble standing and is unable to work and earn money.
He urged the Government and the public to provide assistance.
