Har Ghar Tiranga rallies held in Kamjong, Ukhrul and Pherzawl

Kamjong/Ukhrul/Pherzawl, August 13 2026: Har Ghar Tiranga rallies and awareness activities were held in Kamjong, Ukhrul and Pherzawl districts on Thursday as part of the nationwide campaign being observed from August 9 to 17 ahead of the 80th Independence Day.

In Kamjong, the District Administration organised a Tiranga rally led by Deputy Commissioner LN Kashung and Superintendent of Police Tholu Rocky.

The rally began at Kamjong Higher Secondary School Ground and culminated at Awontang.

District Administration officials, District Level Officers, security personnel, teachers and students from various schools participated in the rally, waving the Tricolour and expressing their respect for the national flag.

Speaking on the occasion, DC LN Kashung said the campaign symbolised the honour, prestige and glory of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.

He urged students to put the nation first in their endeavours and uphold the values of dignity and respect.

Earlier in the day, a full dress rehearsal for the 80th Independence Day celebration was conducted at Kamjong Higher Secondary School Ground.

A total of 20 marchpast contingents, including contingents from the 14th BSF, 11th IRB and Manipur Police, along with 17 school contingents, participated in the rehearsal.

At Ukhrul, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ukhrul District, organised a Tiranga rally at the district headquarters as part of the nationwide campaign.

The rally began at Gandhi Chowk and proceeded to the New Secretariat Complex.

More than 1,000 people participated in the rally, which was led by BJP Manipur Pradesh State General Secretary (Administration) L Deben along with BJP Ukhrul District president Longyao, Somtai Shaiza, Hopingson and Presho Shimray.

The rally was organised under the initiative of BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda.

In Pherzawl, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was observed across educational institutions with enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and staff.

The campaign was organised by the Zonal Education Office, Pherzawl, in collaboration with schools under the overall supervision of the District Administration.

Students took part in Tiranga-themed activities, sang the National Song Vande Mataram and proudly displayed the National Flag.

The campaign covered around 130 educational institutions across the district, including Pherzawl Government High School, Parbung Government Higher Secondary School, Tuipiphai Government Aided Junior High School, Songtal Government High School and Sumtuh JB School, among others.

The district-wide observance sought to foster patriotism and national pride among the younger generation by encouraging meaningful participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
