Writers' delegation pays tribute to Manipur's heritage, fosters ties

Imphal, February 13 2026: A 10-member delegation of writers from Assam and Tripura departed from Imphal today after a three-day visit to Manipur, where they participated in the 18 th Foundation Day celebration of the Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Manipur, and paid respects at the sacred sites within Kangla.

The visiting writers arrived on February 8 for the event, which ran until February 10.Early this morning, they offered prayers to Iputhou Pakhangba, wishing for peace and harmony in the State.

Kshetimayum Madhabo Singha, an advisory board member of PAWF, Tripura Branch, expressed his immense satisfaction and joy at being able to visit and pay homage at the sacred Kangla.

He remarked, "As a Meetei, we are extremely fortunate and happy to have the opportunity to visit this land and offer our respects".

Ashem Subashini, secretary of the Manipuri Women Literary & Cultural Organisation (MWLCO), Hojai, Assam, shared her feelings of fulfillment at visiting Manipur, the origin of the Meetei community.

She also expressed hope that such exchange visits would strengthen the bond between Manipur and the Manipuri diaspora living outside the State.

The delegates visited several other significant locations, including the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple, Ibudhou Marjing, Khongjam War Memorial, Loktak Lake, and Keibul Lamjao National Park.

Members of PAWF, Manipur, including president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, saw off the delegates at the Imphal International Airport, wishing them a safe and smooth journey home.
