Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization begins in IE

Imphal, October 12 2025:
The District Level Launching Programme of National Immunisation Day and Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) 2025 for Imphal East district was held at Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office Complex in Porompat today.
Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East launched the IPPI 2025 in the presence of Dr L Indira Devi, CMO, Imphal East; staff and students of Nightingale Nursing Institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nivedita emphasized the vital role of immunization in safeguarding public health.
She urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure the success of the IPPI campaign and reiterated the district administration's commitment to achieving polio eradication.
Dr L Indira informed that a total of 505 polio booths have been arranged in Imphal East district to administer polio vaccine to the children.
She urged all to take part in the immunization programme to ensure a Polio free district.
In regard to the recent outbreak of Dengue in the State, Dr L Indira shared that oral polio drops are safe for children who are tested positive for Dengue but do not have high fever and Diarrhoea.
