Imphal, August 11 2026: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has extended gratitude to Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand for contributing Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief fund for the flood ravaged State.

In a post on X, Biswa Sarma wrote, 'I sincerely thank Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri @YKhemchandSingh Ji and the people of Manipur for their generous contribution of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund towards the #AssamFloodsResponse.

'Assam and Manipur are sister states, bound not just by geography but by shared history and kinship.

This act of generosity reflects the enduring spirit of oneness among the people of the North East.

'To everyone in Manipur who stood with Assam in this hour- thank you, from the bottom of my heart,' tweeted Himanta Biswa Sarma.
