Imphal, June 11 2026:
The annual Career Counselling and Admission Guidance Programme jointly organised by the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) and the Manipur Students' Association (MSA), Chandigarh, will be held on June 13 and 14 to assist students seeking admission to colleges and universities in Chandigarh.
Addressing a press conference, AMSU HRD secretary Mayanglambam Kumar said the programme is aimed at helping students who have completed Class XII and graduation and are planning to pursue higher studies in Chandigarh.
He noted that many students face difficulties during the admission process due to a lack of relatives or acquaintances in the city, limited knowledge about admission procedures, and travel-related challenges.
Kumar stated that some individuals and agencies often take advantage of students and parents who are unfamiliar with the admission process by promising admissions in reputed institutions.
However, many students reportedly end up being admitted to lesser-known or unsuitable colleges.
To address such issues and provide reliable guidance, the counselling programme is being organised.
He urged students and parents to attend the programme on June 13 and 14 and make use of the opportunity to seek authentic information and guidance regarding higher education options in Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, MSA Chandigarh vice-president Achom Lamnganba said the programme will provide detailed information on various colleges and universities in Chandigarh.
Students will be informed about eligibility criteria, required academic percentages, fee structures and other admission-related procedures.
He added that the association will also extend assistance to students seeking admission to government, semi-government, aided institutions and Punjab University, ensuring that they receive proper guidance throughout the admission process.
